Up for sale here is a very special timepiece. An idea from the most creative era of watchmaking history, remade and Remastered. This watch, often called a tribute to Brutalism, is inspired by the 5159BA, an even rarer piece of which only 7 were made. This one is of a limited run of 250, and is exceedingly rare to find available for sale. Once they enter a collection, they don’t often leave! Ref. 15240SG.
The case is made from a new alloy by AP called Sand Gold- not quite white gold, and not quite rose. The hue of this gold, coupled with the fully brushed facets on every angled surface, give the whole watch a very downplayed sort of elegance- which I prefer. The idea of this being a brutalist creation is certainly warranted.
Inside the case sits a beautiful Blue Nuit sunburst dial, the same hue as on the Jumbo. Also derived from the Jumbo is the calibre 7129 movement, even thinner here as it is without the date complication. On display through the exhibition case back, of course, with a matching openworked sand gold rotor.
Comes as a full set as delivered from the AD in 2024.
