This stunning JLC sits perfectly between functional sophistication and quiet elegance. The 40mm stainless steel case and a silver sunray-brushed dial make it feel classy, without being over the top. Its complication suite is also impressive: it offers a complete calendar (displaying day, date, and month) as well as a moon-phase indicator. One particularly elegant feature is the “jumping date” mechanism, where the date hand leaps between the 15th and 16th of the month so as not to obscure the moon-phase display – pretty cool touch. Underneath, there’s the automatic Calibre 866AA with about 70 hours of power reserve. This is one of those timeless pieces that works well for any occasion.
