The inaugural M.A.D.1 collaboration — and the first time legendary French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac turned his hand to watchmaking — the “Time to Love” is a 42mm stainless steel timepiece measuring 18.8mm in thickness, infused with JCDC’s five-decade design language at every level. The triple-blade titanium and tungsten rotor is newly engineered with one blade slightly heavier than the others to optimize spinning, lacquered in JCDC’s three iconic hues — red for passion, blue for hope, and yellow for human warmth — while a bright green hour disc reflects another colour close to the designer’s heart. The hour and minute numerals are reproduced directly from JCDC’s handwriting, and a French quote from the artist encircles the base of the dial. The crown is engraved with an angel in conversation with the moon, a recurring JCDC motif. Presented on a white leather and rubber rally strap with rainbow stitching and deployant clasp. Retailing at USD 3,600, this example is offered at a meaningful secondary market premium reflecting its raffle-only scarcity. The modified Miyota 821A is a self-winding movement delivering approximately 42 hours of power reserve, water-resistant to 30 meters.
