Patek Phillipe Nautilus Flyback Chronograph in 18k Gold/steel, 5980/1AR 2024!

Up for sale here is one of the finest offerings in the Nautilus lineup- the 5980 chronograph. This variant comes in stainless steel and 18k gold, with a blue sunburst dial. Ref. 5980/1AR.

Although the 5980 was recently discontinued from the Patek catalog, it’s incredible to see how well thought out this timepiece is. The 28-520 C movement is a flyback chronograph, equipped with a vertical clutch. This greatly minimizes the friction while running the chronograph, allowing for the chrono sweep hand to be used as a running seconds hand. Along this line of thinking, there is no need for a seconds sub-dial, so it does not appear on the watch! And since the chronograph is a flyback, it allows for precise setting of the seconds hand as the minute rolls over.

Another fantastic (and often overlooked) feature of the 2024 is that it comes on the A384ABAP bracelet, which features a double sided micro-adjustment!

Comes as a full set with the gold pusher, and papers dated in the final year of production. This transaction will need to follow our terms of a safe sale.
