One of the most architecturally distinctive moonphase watches in German watchmaking, the PanoMaticLunar 40 is a 40mm stainless steel timepiece measuring 12.7mm in thickness — its asymmetric dial layout inspired by the Golden Ratio. The galvanic silver dial presents a decentralized hour and minute sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a small seconds sub-dial, both decorated with a fine vinyl-type finish. The signature Panorama Date window sits at 4 o’clock with high-contrast black numerals on a white ground, while a crescent-shaped aperture frames a moonphase display crafted in-house — the moon disc cut with a small milling tool to produce a domed shape, then polished with a diamond-tipped tool for a unique brilliance. A sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the three-quarter plate with Glashütte stripe decoration and twin swan-neck spring regulators. Presented on a silver gator leather strap with stainless steel deployant clasp. Retailing at 12,400 USD, this example is offered meaningfully below current retail. The in-house 90-02 is a self-winding movement containing 47 jewels, beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and delivering approximately 42 hours of power reserve, water-resistant to 50 meters.
